“[Homeopathy] is a practice that will help patients who wish to understand and work through their illnesses to a deeper and subtler level, leading to better health for themselves, our environment and our future.”

Dr David Owen (Principles and Practice of Homeopathy, 2015 Singing Dragon)

The Consultation Process

The Consultation - note taking

The initial consultation lasts around one and a half hours, either in-person or online.

In addition to understanding your specific problem, I will want to know something of you medical history, influencing factors (physical or emotional), interests and likes/dislikes regarding such as regards weather, food and such like. This is key to successful homeopathic prescribing.

I will work with you in an honest and non-judgemental manner. My task is to understand the whole person you are, and not just your specific illness / disease or diagnosis.  I wish to hear your story.

Please note that all that you share is held in strict confidence and in accordance with my privacy policy.

A diagnosis from your doctor or specialist provides much valuable information so please seek this. However, to the homeopath this is not your whole story.

Usually, after the consultation I will take a little time to reflect and research your case before prescribing.

A well selected remedy (medicine) should ideally provoke a response and alter your symptom picture. This guides the next prescription.

Typically a homeopathic medicine is given for a week or so, followed by a period of ‘wait and watch’.

Follow-up appointments are of shorter duration – usually of 45-60 minutes – and typically at an interval of 4-8 weeks.

Expectations

For conditions that are long standing, it takes time for the full picture to emerge and I recommend you allow for at least two follow-up appointments.

Homeopathy is a healing process with the goal of restoring function and not just symptom management. This takes a little time.

Nonetheless, positive progress is expected over the course of two to three consultations. But do bear in mind that homeopathy is individualised treatment and no two persons are the same even if they share similar symptoms.

Booking and Cost

Pay-as-you-go consultations cost £65 (initial) and £45 (follow-up) to include subsequent analysis and feedback.

Usually medicines are ordered and sent by post direct from a homeopathic pharmacy to your home and if so a small additional charge may apply (around £10-£15 including p&p). In some cases I stock the medicine and cost may be less.

Unless your are a returning client, the first step is to book a FREE 30-Minute Discovery Call . This is an important step as it allows me to assess your particular health issue, assess the appropriateness of homeopathic treatment, and set expectations.

Reduced Cost Packages

In addition to pay-as-you-go is an option, I offer two packages giving a 15% reduction. These recognise the importance of the follow-up consultation.

Package 1 is for new patients/clients. This compriises the in-depth initial consultation plus two follow-up consultations. Cost £130.

Package 2 is for established patients/clients needing ongoing homeopathic treatment. This comprises three follow-up consultations. Cost £115.

Hopefully the above is clear but should there be any difficulties please email me at [email protected].

GP Prescribed Medicines

Ethically, I cannot alter any prescription from another healthcare professional (e.g. your G P). This is solely a matter between yourself and the prescriber.

Cancellations

Sometimes things can crop up which make it necessary to cancel an appointment. Providing there is good cause there will be no charge, but I reserve the right to request payment in advance where a client repeatedly cancels at short notice.

The online booking system allows you to reshedule or cancel. Alternatively you can email me at [email protected].
